ABOUT US
At Carthage Veterinary Service (CVS), we are dedicated to supporting the family farm and ensuring its success by providing practical, on-farm solutions grounded in years of experience and expertise. But we are more than just a veterinary clinic. CVS specializes in large animal care, with a primary focus on swine.
Our team of seasoned veterinarians lead various divisions of the company, giving them firsthand insight into the day-to-day operations of the industry. This hands-on approach allows them to continuously identify areas for improvement while building strong, lasting relationships with our clients. They not only provide vital veterinary care through farm visits, but also guide clients toward additional services such as nutrition management, record-keeping, supplies, and education and training.
With over 200 years of combined experience, our veterinary services team is a recognized leader in the industry. Education and training are also at the heart of our commitment to continuous improvement. CVS offers a range of programs aimed at developing leadership skills, training farm workers, and providing valuable resources to international visitors.
Our diagnostics lab in Carthage offers quick, reliable results for veterinarians and clients, typically within the same day. For more specialized tests, we collaborate with Iowa State University for confirmation. Additionally, our biologics lab in North Carolina is dedicated to developing customized vaccines that address specific strains on farms, including both bacterial and viral vaccines. Since its inception in 2020, this lab has become a vital asset in our mission to improve animal health and farm productivity.
CVS also leads in research, with diverse projects that cater to both public and private industry needs. Our research spans all stages of pig development and is focused on improving animal health, welfare, and overall farm performance.

															COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Carthage Veterinary Service is deeply committed to the local community where we live and work. We look forward to sponsoring local events, donating to related causes and offering our volunteer services to organizations in need. One of our greatest assets in this department is our volunteer teams that we have on staff. Many hours of planning and volunteer time are put into both the Employee Volunteer Steering Committee (EVSC) and Squeal for a Cure teams that raise money and donate to groups throughout the year. To show support to that team, the company also matches all dollars raised so that their dollars go further to those in need! We truly appreciate all our employees who serve on those committees for contributing their time and money, and also to the rest of our employees who support and attend their events.
Carthage Veterinary Service is committed to the community in which it was founded and has seen tremendous growth. We are proud that our organization and team members are highly invested in the communities they work and live in, and we are firm believers in giving back.
